The Fashion students at WLC College India Mumbai Campus were asked to engage in a team building
exercise. Keeping the fondness of the fashion culture in mind, the faculty
developed a unique assignment.
The aim was to create a life size model of a shoe depicting
an era of the fashion world. Students were divided into 2 groups and indulged
in a brainstorming session to finalize on the theme for the project. WLCI
College believes in enhancing expertise in team work and decision making. These
2 aspects are the foundation of an excelled professional in any and every
field.
The students shared their themes with the faculty and were
provided with the resources to create. The themes were :-
- 1970 – 80’s Era in Fashion
- Cinderella’s Lost Shoe
These wonderfully shaped designs were presented beautifully
on a ramp created by the students. The shoes had a backdrop which linked the
shoe to the theme. The 70 & 80’s era had a backdrop of numerous celebrity
images from that time from Hollywood and Bollywood. Whereas, Cinderella’s Lost
shoe was backed by a delicate replica of the romantic story.
Giving students that task of choosing their own theme and
working together as a team, incorporates a real world feel. When they can
overcome obstacles and resolve issues with team mates in the comfortable
environment of a classroom, they can overcome anything !
