Yes, WLCI College teaches its student’s the art of
Typography !
The technique of arranging ‘Type’ or words to create a
language that is appealing to read, is known as Typography. This art is used by
various graphic designers, typesetters comic book artists, graffiti artists
etc. WLCI School of Design engages the students to practice this art in order
to broaden their career path.
With Digitization picking up, this avenue of design has
gained demand. Typography, in general, is a broad concept that covers all
aspects of designing using letters. It can be done mechanically using various
print machines and software’s or manually using the art form of calligraphy.
Advertising is another profession where the use of this art
is treasured. Being used in various promotional materials, it can set a firm
apart from its competitors. At WLCI School of Advertising and Graphic Design, this module is highly valued.
In the image below, you can see the use of Primitive and
Microcosms. Although, the latter is a part of the former, you can see how they
can appear different to the untrained eye. In this case, the road signs are the
primitive of which the microcosms have been derived.
